Makeup for Miss World Canada Pageant
After meeting with Sarah Roy and learning about Beauti Control, a cosmetic and skincare company, I wanted to learn more about the products and try them for myself! Sarah offered to bring her kit over on the morning of the Miss World Canada Pageant so I could do her makeup, as well as my own. She would be crowning Miss World Canada that night! Count me in!

Makeup for Wealthy Thought Leader, Casey Truffo
Successful business woman, Casey Truffo, was due to fly into Vancouver from California, to speak at a 3 day event: The Wealthy Thought Leader. Standing up to speak in front of a big crowd is no biggie for Casey. She does this all the time! It’s the paparazzi that calls for concern. Makeup and hair artist please!
The White Girl Afro…Dave Dolsen Photography, Faye Smith Hair, Mika Does Makeup, Charlene Model
David Dolsen is a photographer that Mika Does Makeup is fond of working with. Mika is my best friend and co-worker so I trust her judgement of talent. I adore working with Charlene Sierakowski and have worked with her since 2009. You will see her in my prosthetics portfolio as a reptile! Charlene has such a unique and versatile look, I always jump at the opportunity to shoot with her. So when Mika asked me to do a shoot with herself, Charlene and David…I was totally in!
Makeup & Hair for Suicide Girl, Aadie
I have worked with Sirius Photography for years now! I was thrilled to get a call from the vision behind Sirus, Ed Clunn, requesting my hair and makeup services for Suicide Girl, Aadie, who he would be shooting a pin up look with. It isn’t too often I get to do some wild and wacky makeup so I scrambled and squeezed Aadie into my morning schedule, having her arrive at my studio bright and early in the morning.
I was riding the BC Ferry on the way back from a weekend away in Sechelt when I first came across Sweet LeiLani Cosmetics. My eye was drawn by the natural, paper packaging. There was a little information postcard available for me to read. I noticed that the cosmetics were made in Langley, BC. A local product! I love it! I just had to send an email to find out more about the line! I discovered many interesting facts about the wonderful, beneficial ingredients in each product as well as the charities connected to the line. Of course, I wanted to test out the products on myself. I felt the need to make a little blog tutorial for viewers to learn how to apply a great foundation/base using Sweet Leilani products.
