Of course I said yes! Please…
ITM-NSR Model Look North Amercia has become a signature event in Western Canada’s fashion industry!
Twenty model finalists are selected to work with the industry’s top directors, designers, photographers and makeup artists, in a series of intensive training which leads to a spectacular final show which this year, took place on July 8th 2010 at The River Rock Show Theatre in Richmond, BC, Canada.
The model taking the 1st place prize wins an all-expense paid trip to compete in China’s largest and most prestigious model search.
ITM & CHMB 1320 are also partnered with the BC Cancer Foundation and held their 2nd annual Glamour Gala Dinner at this years ITM Model Finale. All proceeds from the dinner, as well as finale show ticket sales, was donated to the BC Cancer Foundation in support of research and enhancements to patient care at the BC Cancer Agency.
This was a competition I am extremely proud to be a part of and thrilled to have been given the opportunity to provide my skills for the promotional photo and video shoot day, along with the finale show.
I was working under the name of Beauty Court. A beauty store located in Aberdeen Centre, Richmond, BC, Canada.
The show ran amazingly well as we used the “assembly line” method to get the girls ready.
The girls began at the eye shadow station where we had 2/3 artists working. They then moved on to the skin section, which I and 1 other artist were working at. We would clean up the girls removing all of the excess eye shadow that may have fallen during eye shadow application. We then tone and primed the skin. Next came a nice coating of foundation to even out the skin tone. We conceal blemishes next followed by powder to remove any shine or excess oil. Countouring with a brown shadow under the cheek bones and around the jaw line really chiseled those faces! Adding a peach blush on the cheek bones and apples gave the colour we needed to brighten the face. Finishing off with a gorgeous white, shimmer highlight on the top of the cheek bones and a dab on the nose completed the look. Flawless! The girls would then finish off at the eye lash and lip station.
Tada! Their makeup is complete!
I was happy to bump into some familiar faces during the show such as contestant model number 6, Charlene, who is seen in my “reptile”, prosthetics portfolio piece, which has caught the eye of most of my co-workers and clients.
It was also great to see Rozemerie from JC Studio behind the scenes, a local fashion designer who I have worked for on many occassions.
I hope to be back next year for ITM Models 2011
