Jen Williams Photography – Sharon S
I have previously blogged about one of my clients, Christina Wong, who came to me to get her hair and makeup done before her Boudoir Photo Shoot with Jen William’s photography. A photographer who I had began contact with during her move from Victoria to Vancouver. She had chosen me as her Vancouver based makeup and hair artist, who she could confidently recommend and send her clients to. Here, I am blogging about another one of mine and Jen’s clients. This client, named Sharon S, was booked in with me to get her makeup done, ready for her shoot with Jen.
I always begin my applications with a mini consultation in order to get a feel of the client’s personality along with their likes and dislikes regarding makeup. If you know your client doesn’t normally wear makeup, putting a dark smokey eye, red lips and liquid liner on them, without warning, could certainly lead to disaster!
Another thing I like to talk over with clients, is if they are concerned whether the makeup shows up clearly in images. When dealing with a photo shoot client, I would expect the answer to be yes. Though with client’s such as brides and graduates who have guests to face in day light, there are likely more concerns regarding the direct image, as well as the photographic results.
For Sharon, although she wasn’t normally too much of a “makeup girl”, she wanted something different. Something that would stand out in the photographs. Something to impress her husband! That is why she came to me! I suggested a grey cat eye with false lashes, a wingy cake liner, paired with peach, glossy lips and a strong, peach blush. You can’t go wrong with this look! It shows up perfectly in images and doesn’t look over done. It is the perfect in between.
I am happy to hear feedback from Sharon that her, her friends and her husband, all love the results from both the makeup application and the photo shoot. I love to see clients happy!
