Our Favourite Fall Makeup Trends for 2016

Fall is definitely upon us, but it’s not all bad news. Fall brings scarves and boots and and a greater appreciation of the effects of a hot coffee in the morning. It also brings new makeup trends. Here are a few of the trends we are the most excited about along with our recommendations on how to get each look and a few products that will help you achieve them.

Simple Black Eyeliner

A little liner goes a long way, and this fall is all about simply accentuating your baby blues (or greens or hazels, you do you girl). Start with foundation, concealer and a little bit of contour/bronzer, light neutral eyeshadow , fill in your brows and put on sheer lipgloss. Break out your preferred black eyeliner and the rest is up to you. This seasons eyeliner trends range from thin liner on the lash line to extra long cat eyeliner.

We recommend: Evelyn Iona Cream Gel Liner in Very Black  or Young Blood Eyemazing Liquid Liner Pen in Noir (available in our store)

Bright lips On A Blank Face

My inner lazy person and my inner makeup artist both agree this fall makeup trend is amazing. Its all about minimalism, which in itself has become very popular in the last few years. Start with foundation, concealer and an understated contour to add dimension to your cheek bones. Use foundation or an eye shadow base to even out your eyelids (make sure to powder them well if using foundation). Apply mascara and fill in brows. Choose a bold lip colour. To really make the look work, first apply lip liner that matches your chosen lipstick/gloss. Line your lips and fill in with the liner if desired (especially if you’re using lip gloss). Apply your gloss and you’re out the door.

We recommend: Evelyn Iona Lip Gloss in Brooke or Lisa (available in our store) or Revlon Matte Balm

Monochromatic Face

Simplicity is clearly the common thread between this fall’s trends, and what is more simple than limiting yourself to one colour. Start with foundation, concealer, contour and brows, then use a cream blush on the apples of your cheeks and blend towards your ear. Use the same cream blush as eyeliner and lip colour and voila, you’re trendy as hell.

We recommend: Evelyn Iona Cream Blush in Ash (available in our store)
Feathery Lashes

Nothing will make your eyes stand out this fall like a good set of false lashes. Add these to any of the above mentioned makeups or create your own look. The trend here is all in the soft, feathery look of the lashes.

We recommend: Esquido Mink Lashes – A Lash Named Desire (multiple use lashes) (available in our store)
