The Fashion Spread
I love it when Florence Leung from Vancouver Fashion Showcase presents me with her ideas. This time, our coffee meet was regarding the release of The Fashion Spread: a small fashion magazine style newspaper, which would be handed out by sexy young men in downtown Vancouver on a monthly basis. The first edition was to be released in March 2012 and inspired by Vancouver Fashion Week 2012.
Florence had seen the makeup tutorials I shoot with KuTrend and had thought it would be a great idea for me to do a written makeup tutorial for Vancouverites to learn from. In order to this, we needed to do a photoshoot where we could create the look! I called my go-to head-shot photographer, Brandon Hart, to join me on this project.
For our model, we selected Cayley, the runner up from our past Vancouver Fashion Showcase competition, which you can read about in my previous blog posting. Cayley was perfect for this shoot! She has gorgeous long brown hair that I can whip up in an up-do in 10 minutes, flawless skin, huge eyes and chiseled face structure with super duper high cheekbones! I was so excited to do this shoot.
Florence came along to snap up some behind the scenes shots, which when paired with “Faye’s Makeup Tips” in text form, help narrate the makeup tutorial as clearly as possible. I even applied this makeup design on myself in the KuTrend studio in Richmond, so we could share a web link with readers that would take you to a detailed makeup tutorial video! Make sure to check out the video to!
I think this is a great first edition of The Fashion Spread. I can’t wait to be featured in more.
