Most weddings don’t have a fireworks display, Michelle’s wedding was definitely a day she will never forget.
When Faye Smith Makeup & Hair was contacted to help bride Michelle get ready for her big day, we couldn’t have been more excited! When you have a wedding with 1200 guests, some of which included Rick Hansen, Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson and Hong Kong Actress and Singer Gigi Lai, there will definitely be some changes throughout the evening (this bride had 7 dress changes, all of which were stunning.)
Mary from Faye Smith Makeup & Hair was on hand the day of Michelle’s wedding . The morning of the wedding she headed to Michelle’s house where it was just the bride and her mom getting ready. She styled a intricate and elaborate updo with lots of volume, loops and twists. Michelle’s makeup was very natural and clean with a flush of pink on her cheeks as well as lips, and of course, we applied beautiful natural long lashes.
Mary later returned for a look change, this time at the grooms house in the UBC area looking over the water. Mary restyled Michelle’s hair into a more sleek high bun with a rose roll, she refreshed Michelle’s makeup by just reapplying her lips and cheek color.
Later that evening Mary returned for one final look change. She headed to the Vancouver Convention centre where they had a room strictly dedicated to the makeup artist for touch ups. Mary styled another hair look for the mother of the bride, she styled a high modern french twist which looked absolutely amazing.
The venue was full of thousands of fresh white orchids, and while on stand by for touch ups, Mary got to witness the unreal fireworks display, and was fed amazing food, and all the guests were handed individual three-tiered cakes!
The Huffington Post quoted “It’s rumoured 39 private jets that used the Vancouver airport this weekend were connected to guests at Joseph Fung and Michelle Tam’s wedding at the Vancouver Convention Centre Saturday. Joseph is the only son of media, retail, and development mogul Thomas Fung. Fung has an estimated $400-million empire that includes Aberdeen Centre in Richmond and Fairchild Group, which includes multicultural media stations, real estate, and restaurants. “This is not just a wedding,” Thomas Fung told The Globe And Mail. “This is to introduce my business associates to my son, to show them that he’s capable of helping me run the business.”
The Vancouver Sun quoted ” As for giving the newlyweds cash, Fairchild Group founder Thomas Fung and actress-wife Amy followed corresponding Chinese tradition by diverting some to Doctors Without Borders, the BC Women’s Hospital and the University of B.C.”
Congratulations Michelle and Joseph, everyone at Faye Smith Makeup & Hair wishes you both a happy marriage and a lifetime full of happiness!
