I have worked with Kim Bellavance for a number of years now. It all began with her “Girl’s Day” concept photo shoots, to which I styled hair and makeup for. You can read more about this in my previous blog posts.
This year, myself and Kim teamed up in the field of hair, makeup, and photography for weddings. Bridal is the main focus of both of our professions, and we already know each other and know we work very well together, it only made sense to become a team. We are a one stop shop for bride-to-be’s.
One of our beautiful brides of 2012 was Cassandra. A beautiful, young bride, who was such a pleasure spending time with. We really did have fun together. Kim even came along to Cass’s hair and makeup trial, just to hang out and have fun with us! It is always nice to have some input from your photographer if you can get it.
Jessica Whitby of Elektra Cometics was my makeup assistant of choice for Cass’s wedding. Jessica is an artist who works with Kim Bellavance regularly, as well as myself. I have also hired Jessica for a number of important makeup jobs this year, so I know I can trust her work.
The morning of Cass’s wedding took place in Richmond. We had a fun morning, applying makeup for the entire bridal party; bride, bridesmaids, moms, aunties and flower girls.
I love the images that Kim took of us working on the makeup.
Cassandra’s makeup look was very soft, and angelic. It was natural, enhancing all of her beautiful features, and giving a nice, healthy glow. I love the makeup look we chose!
I find it can be really effective to make the bride the least dramatic of the bridal party. It is surprising how much more the bride stands out from the crowd this way, opposed to making her the most dramatic of the group.
I can’t wait to work with Kim again in 2013. Which beautiful bride will we get to work with next?
