The wedding day was held at a secluded resort in Whistler called Nita Lake Lodge. This ceremony was for close family and friends only, a personal and private event held at a stunning location over-looking a beautiful lake.
Michelle’s bridal suite peered right over the lake with two giant balconies to rest on. We could watch the water ripple and hear the birds chirp. The morning was perfect in temperate and the sun beamed down on Michelle and her new husband, Fabian’s special day.
Michelle gave me permission to glam up the look for her wedding day. She had a gorgeous netted Fascinator as her hair piece which inspired us to go a little Hollywood with her hair and makeup.
For Michelle’s makeup, I applied a generous amount of Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics liquid foundation, concealer, and powder foundation to create a flawless complexion that would see her through the day. I used bronzer to lightly contour beneath her zygomatic bone which bought emphasis to the beautiful high cheek bones she has. A touch of Vasanti’s Sun Peached Glow was the perfect product to finish Michelle’s complexion.
Michelle has very small eyes that almost disappear when she smiles her big gorgeous smile. I of course wanted her smiling as much as possible on her wedding day so needed her eyes to stand out as much as possible. I used shading and colouring to create the illusion of bigger eyes.
I used bronze and brown eye shadows to shade the outer corner of Michelle’s eye lids, blending up toward to brown bone but stopping way before. The brow bone and inner eye was heavily highlighted with a shimmering champagne colour that complimented her skin tone. I finished her eyes with a black liquid liner that was thicker on the outer corners and winged to further lift and open the eye. Of course we used false lashes and water proof mascara as well.
Thank you to makeup and hair artist, Mary Im, for assisting me at Michelle’s Whistler wedding. Mary beautified Michelle’s bridesmaid which allow me to fully concentrate on the most important person of the day, the bride.
Michelle’s reception in Vancouver were to be a little more traditional than Hollywood. As my team were to style hair and makeup for a larger group of ladies this time around, I hired Maude Salon hair stylist, Caitanna Hoffart and makeup artist, Kym Davidson to help.
Caitie styled Michelle’s hair in a very clean and elegant side bun, as I styled the makeup similarly to her wedding day but this time there was no striking red lip and a much softer eye shadow.
