We have an incredible team of artists at Faye Smith Makeup and Hair. Each artist in our team is incredibly talented, with their own unique talents and histories in the hair and makeup world. Every once in a while we like to show off our artists, this week, meet Tarah, Melody and Erin.
Tarah (Makeup and Hair)
Q: Who has been your most interesting client so far?
A: Diane Von Furstenburg, I did makeup for a fashion show she held at Holt Renfrew.
Q: Do you have any memories about hair/makeup when you were young that might have hinted at your future in Makeup/Hair?
A: One of my defining moments that helped me make the decision to explore makeup artistry as a career was all the times spent in my family’s bathroom experimenting with different makeup styles I would see in Voque/Harpers Bazaar and Elle. I would also mix and make lip glosses and eye shadows for my friends.
Q: Any notable or interesting facts about yourself or your career, or funny stories you’d like to share?
A: I am a mom of a 3 year old boy, would rather read on my day off and love to cook and eat! I am a serious foodie.
Melody (Makeup And Hair)
A: I went to school at Kosmetae Academy of Spa Aesthetics and Hair Design. in 2004, which included a small module in makeup artistry. At that time, my school instructor encouraged me to take the full time makeup course at Blanche MacDonald. I attended Blanche and acquired my makeup artist certificate in 2005.
A: I met Faye at an updo class she was holding earlier this year.
A: That everyone needs to be “Instagram” made-up. It looks great in photos but can be over the top in real life. I want my clients to feel natural and beautiful in their own skin.
A: Mom blogger @creativewifeandjoyfulworker. She is a favorite and returning client of mine. Always love working with her.
