Although you wouldn’t know it from looking out your window, Summer is just around the corner. The rainy April weather has us holed up inside still wearing sweaters, but our daydreams are all about the sun and the beach and cold drinks on patios. While we’re dreaming, our friends at Melanie Mills Hollywood sent us a little something to make our dreams of sun-kissed skin seem a little closer in the form of their Melanie Mills Hollywood Gleam Body Radiance Cream!
As I’ve discussed before, I am insanely pale. So pale that I legitimately worry that if I don’t get some sun in the next month my skin will become translucent. I don’t usually fake tan, so Melanie Mills Hollywood Gleam Body Radiance seemed like it might just be a saving grace for me while I wait for the sun to come out. I was a bit concerned that it would be too dark on my lily white skin, however, as a bronzing body lotion, it blended very nicely with no streaks to be seen. It is supposed to be transfer resistant. It isn’t transfer proof, but it holds up pretty well (as in I had to rub a white piece of paper pretty hard against my skin for just a bit of it to show up on the paper). It is also supposed to be non-staining, so if a bit of it does transfer on to anything, it shouldn’t be that big of a deal.
My favourite way to use this cream is not as a body bronzer, but as a liquid bronzer. It can be applied under or along with foundation (I like to dab a bit under my cheek bones before blending it with my foundation). It is subtle enough while still dark enough that it creates the illusion of some sunkissed shadowing on my face. I also should mention that unlike a lot of what I have seen on the market lately, it is not insanely shimmery. It IS still shimmery, but just enough that it looks dewier more than anything, so it works for day or night.
On my laziest days, I have gotten a pretty good makeup look out of just foundation, Gleam Body Radiance and Mascara. I even dab a little on my eyelids and under my lower lash line (the product comes with a warning to avoid contact with eyes so be careful) for a glowy, dreamy eye. All in all, I can’t really think of a single complaint that I have about this product so if you’re jonesing for a little summer in your life, this stuff is where it’s at.
Have you tried this product? What do you think? Let us know in the comments!!
